PS100676 - School Psychologists: Full time opening in Region 6, Ames office for the 2010-11 school year.  Position will serve Ames Middle and High Schools.  Qualified applicants must be appropriately licensed/certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or post Masters level of professional training in an approved school psychology training program with institutional recommendations. PS100677 – School Social Worker: Full time opening in Region 9, Johnston office for the 2010-11 school year.  This position will cover all early childhood (birth to 5) in the Johnston district. Contract will be 192 days over 12 months. Minimum qualifications include: Masters degree in Social Work from a graduate school of Social Work and accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Must be appropriately licensed/certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. Licensure or Statement of Professional Recognition requires verification of the human relations course. The license of School Social Work requires completion of an approved program. Preferred training in education, an understanding of public school services and special education, and two years of successful experience in public school social work or child-related work. On January 1 in the following calendar year, those positions will be open for reassignment or posted for transfers to begin on or after July 1. If there are no reassignment or transfer requests, the employee hired to fill the position may be retained as permanent.
