FAMILY NIGHT JAN. 27 FOR URBANDALE, WDM AND JOHNSTON

FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

JOHNSTON, Iowa — Parents and siblings of children birth to age 6 with special needs from the Urbandale, West Des Moines and Johnston school districts are invited to a free Family Night, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Olmstead Elementary School, 7110 Prairie Ave., Urbandale.

The event is sponsored by Heartland Area Education Agency in cooperation with the Urbandale, West Des Moines and Johnston school districts.

Kathy Irving, director of special programs, Special Olympics Iowa, will speak about Special Olympics programs for children age 3-7. Four Special Olympics athletes also will speak.

A free meal is served at 6 p.m. Childcare is provided for younger siblings and children with special needs. For information, contact Brenda Parker at Heartland AEA, 270-9030.
