FAMILY NIGHT SEPT. 30 FOR WDM, URBANDALE AND JOHNSTON
FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
JOHNSTON, Iowa – Parents and siblings of children birth to age 6 with special needs from the West Des Moines, Urbandale and Johnston school districts are invited to a free Family Night, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Jordan Creek Elementary School, 4105 Fuller Road, West Des Moines.
The event is sponsored by Heartland Area Education Agency in cooperation with the West Des Moines, Urbandale and Johnston school districts.
Parents will hear about programs and resources, have questions answered and meet other parents of children with special needs. Siblings with receive support and information about positive ways to cope with having a brother or sister with special needs.
A free meal is served at 6 p.m. Parent and sibling sessions are from 7 to 8 p.m. Childcare is provided for younger siblings and children with special needs. To register, contact Brenda Parker at Heartland AEA, 270-9030, by Sept. 26.
