Parent & Educator Connection Library
The PEC Library contains many resource materials on special education and disabilities that parents and educators served by Heartland AEA 11 may check out free of charge. Heartland has its main office in Johnston, Iowa, and serves 11 central Iowa counties.

Resource materials include

• Books
• Children's books
• Success 4 Kits

Books may be checked out for two weeks and videos for one week, with renewal upon request. The materials will be sent on Heartland's delivery van. Please return materials promptly so that others may use them.

Checkout procedure

• Educators and AEA staff: Call the Heartland AEA Professional Library at 1-800-362-2720. The materials will be delivered directly to your school or branch office within 2-4 days.
• Parents and others: Request materials from your public library through the interlibrary loan. The materials will be delivered directly to the library within 2-4 days for you to pick up.

You may search for specific topics, titles or authors with ComCat search engine. If you would like to see everything the PEC library has, enter PEC in the Call Number box and choose AEA 11 from the Location pull-down menu. You can refine your search even more by choosing a specific topic, such as autism. Just type in your chosen topic in subject.
