Order Timelines

Please allow a week for jobs to be completed. Keep in mind that orders that need graphic design and finishing work may take longer to complete. Orders will be sent back to the requestor through Heartland's van delivery system unless arrangements are made to have the order picked up at Heartland's Johnston office. When you place your order, keep in mind that the van schedule runs Monday-Thursday and work on your job only begins when the order is received at the Johnston office.

Color or Black & White

Color copying is now more affordable than ever and research has shown that using color on documents can improve your results. Color captures attention, enhances productivity and improves communication. Heartland's color copier is great for newsletters, parent flyers, brochures, calendars, posters, yearbooks, etc.

Your job is considered basic printing if it is printed with black on 8 1/2 x 11, 8 1/2 x 14, or 11 x 17 inch paper, either one-sided or two-sided. Printing can be on white paper or a selection of colored bond, text, index, or cover weight paper. We add a small labor charge for Advanced Printing Services, which include print requests for carbonless paper, envelopes, color copies or requests that require binding, cutting or collating.

Tips for Best Results

  • If submitting a hard copy to be used as an original, make sure it is clean and of good quality. Avoid using originals that have smudges or messy corrections and try to leave a 1/4 inch margin around your pages.

  • When having packets or handouts of materials made, try not to combine more than 4 different colors of paper, including white. We are not able to machine collate and staple your packet if you request more than 4 colors of paper.

  • Be mindful of the size of the piece you are having printed or designed.

  • Remember that Heartland AEA is unable to do personal printing orders and cannot print any order that contains paid advertising.

  • The print staff will make every effort to complete your order by your requested date. Jobs requiring graphic design work, proofs or extensive bindery will require additional time to complete.

  • If your material is copyrighted, please send a copy of the permission to reprint with the request.

  • Ask for the expertise of our graphic designers whenever possible.
