An exciting change for this years Physics Olympics is that the AEA 11 Regional and State competitions will be held at the Science Center of Iowa. We are excited about this new partnership and will be providing additional information about the changes as the Olympics approach.

The AEA Region 11 Physics Olympics was  March 26th

The State Physics Olympics was April 16th

The Physics Olympics is a series of physics related competitions for high school students, grades 9-12. The competition stresses creativity and ingenuity as well as an understanding of physics related principles and is intended to stimulate interest in the Physical Sciences. The rules are designed as parameters for the competition and should be regarded in the true spirit of "sciencing."

Each event is scored separately with a winner and runner-up being declared. The team score will be the sum of the event scores with the highest scoring team being declared the Physics Olympics Grand Champion.
