Programming for Gifted--the Personalized Education Plan (PEP)

A PEP includes…
1.    information about the student’s current level of performance.
2.    an annual goal.
3.    short-term learning outcomes with criteria, assessment procedures, and time line.
4.    specifically designed instruction
5.    support services needed
(Pennsylvania Dept. of Education)

A quality PEP…
1.    should be a tool that drives services for identified gifted students.
2.    should be a living document and revised as necessary.
3.    is a communication tool between students, teachers, and parents.
4.    is an individual gifted student planning document based on need.
5.    should be used to measure the effectiveness of services provided.
