Welcome to Mandatory Reporter: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Training

Who is required to take this training?

All mandatory reporters are required to take this training.  Mandatory reporters include Pre-K-12 school nurses, school social workers, certified psychologists, certified paraeducators, holders of coaching authorization, counselors or mental health professionals, and licensed school employees from accredited public and non-public schools/districts and AEA's.

Voluntary Reporters

Although non-licensed and non-certified employees of school districts and AEA's are not mandatory reporters, they can potentially come into contact with victims of abuse.  Therefore it is best practice to have these employees also take the Mandatory Reporter training.

When is this training required?

All licensed employees of a district must complete the training every five years.

Important

Relicensure will require documentation of successful completion of mandatory reporter training for children and dependent adults. Any person applying for ". . . ANY LICENSE ISSUED BY THE BOEE must submit documentation of completion of the child and dependent adult abuse training approved by the state abuse education review panel before his/her license can be renewed (BOEE 01/29/02)."

Employees new to a district that do not meet this requirement must complete the training within the first six months of employment.

If you do not know your password, please contact your district contact person or your local Area Education Agency.
